Is It in Season?

My iguana has an orange glow to it's skin. I'm not sure if this is due to light, health, or food? I noticed a change in color but I'm not sure if he can be going in season.
I know these are not great pics to tell gender, but if you can or have an idea let me know if its a m or f.

Thank You!
Here is a picture taken about a month ago.

And these I took today

Re: Is It in Season?

Unless the ig is stunted its a bit young to be sexed, let alone be going into breeding season. How old is it?

As they age their color changes from neon green to green, grey, orange, red, etc.

At less than a year he's too young to be going into breeding season.

Is he any more aggressive than he used to be?

Re: Is It in Season?

Ya, most likely he isn't in season, he does seem too young and I don't really notice any aggression.

0.o Uh, on second thought.. I just put the food in its cage and it bit my hand making it bleed a little. I don't know if it thought my hand was food because he seemed really hungry or just aggressive?

I did have it on my shoulder today for like 15 minutes and it stood there very calm.

Re: Is It in Season?

I don't know if igs turn orange when they're generally feeling more aggressive, or if it's specifically tied to breeding season. I do notice that the more orange Don Iguan is, the more aggressive he gets. It's a nice caution symbol for me.

You may simply want to be a little more cautious around him, and give him his space for a little bit. If you're afraid he'll bite you again, you could wear some gloves while handling him. As long as you feel confident and in control, he shouldn't get too bad. Once you start backing down and letting him control you, he'll become much more aggressive.

It should pass though.

Re: Is It in Season?

Well now his bite isnt really all that dangerous so I'm good, and ya I don't let him do what he wants, even if I get scratched or bitten. He will play by my rules hahaha...but he trains me...whenever he jumps at the mesh I have to give him his food. xD!
