Finally!!

We took Georgie to the vets today for a check up and they gave her a calcium injection. Tonight she has finally laid 26 eggs in total! Now she looks like a rake. She's been going mad for weeks. Lots of food now!

Re: Finally!!

they aren't fertile so these wont hatch. but apparently incubation period is 90-120 days. imagine if they were all fertile and all hatched 26 little iggys running about? arghh!

Re: Finally!!

Glad the wait is over! They do look horrendous after laying don't they!
It would be a good idea to have her X-rayed to insure that all of the eggs were laid and none were retained to cause trouble later on.

Re: Finally!!

yeh she looks awful! Looks like she is an empty sack, really deflated! It would be heart breaking if u didnt know that she has just laid.
She's alert and fairly active, mind, nowhere near what she has been recently!! eating and drinking ok.
I spoke to the vet and he seems confident that all has gone well. Just have to keep a close eye on her and if there is anything I dont feel right with then get her there.

Re: Finally!!

What relief, huh? I'd like to see a picture of an iguana just after laying.

Keep us posted on how she's recovering.
