    Queso is Barking

Queso has been napping for a good 4 months. Lazy butt. He's been barking for the past 4 hours, almost non-stop. I hope he comes up tonight, I leave for out of town on Wednesday and I'm not sure I can get the hubby to feed him if he comes up after I'm gone I'll give him a nice big fat mouse. That will keep him a week.

It's been thunder storming... A LOT. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

    Re: Queso is Barking

Thunderstorm could likely have brought him out of his nap...(I know my other reptiles always start moving around in their cages a lot more during thunderstorms.)
On a side note, just wondering, at what age did Queso start "napping" for that length of time?? My Isabella is just over a year old and she hasn't ever done that..(To my knowledge she hasn't hibernated at all )
She moves around almost daily..(granted generally just from her water dish to an area very close to it...but again, she does move almost daily..)..is that typical for their first year???

    Re: Queso is Barking

Queso moved around a whole lot the first year. It seems in the 2nd year he napped a whole lot. I also added deep dirt which i'm sure has something to do with it.

Side note, I think he came up and buried in a different spot of the tank. The dirt is moved in two spots. He's directly under the spotlight now (I think). Maybe he'll do a week warmup.

Just because you have an animal that isnt dead doesnt mean you know how to take care of it

He's ALIVE! I guess two days of monsoon rains did the trick.

And I would like to see him eat a mouse lol
Ask and you shall receive. He was HUNGRY. I didn't even have to tempt him at all, went for the mouse on the first pass in front of his nose.

And since we are feeding, it was "refill the magic food bowl" day.

Phew! I thought they might be an offering to the mighty Queso ! On a serious note- how the heck do you keep live plants in with a burrowing frog? Krim digs everything up- even the artificial ones!

    Re: Queso is Barking

I don't have live plants in with Queso. That's how I do it. It's not so much digging up, I'm worried about the roots wrapping around him. 4 months is a long time for a pathos to grow.
