Re: Pacman Too Thin? Tips on Getting Him to Eat Mo

It's great to hear that he finally ate. It's actually not uncommon for pacman frogs to be dinner shy. I had one and I NEVER saw him eat. all I saw was the crickets disappearing. Now, I know people discourage from feeding live, but most pacmans won't eat it if it's not moving, so go for it! If you keep feeding him fuzzies, eventually he'll be big enough to eat a whole mouse! If you want to see him eat, you could always set up a night camera to view him. Then you can get an eyeful!

Re: Pacman Too Thin? Tips on Getting Him to Eat Mo

I think most of us discourage live if at all possible - but none of us wants to see it die of starvation if it'll eat a live fuzzy! In some cases the best case scenario isn't what works, unfortunately.

For me, it's more frustrating when someone tells me that they only use live because they tried frozen once a long time ago with another snake and it didn't work.

I was going to try a few live fuzzies and then see if I could do a frozen, but I seriously doubt it.

One of My cranwelli will only eat mice and nothing else, so Yours might end up the same way.

If Your not big on the live thing, f/t will work, but You have to kind of mimic mouse movement (say that ten times fast!) with a set of tongs.

Re: Pacman Too Thin? Tips on Getting Him to Eat Mo

He eats large crickets, but not in the quantity I need him to, to survive. So I have pretty much figured a mouse once a month and then crickets in between.

I tried a 2nd mouse after 2 weeks, and he wasn't interested. So I'm going to guess 4 weeks. He isn't looking thin any more at all, so I'm not worried. And I know his metabolism is much slower than my whites or red-eyes.
