Nah, i currently have a tank. If I try feeder guppies, they can go into the tropical community tank in the living room.

Guppies > Goldfish, if I remember properly.

Re: Pacman Too Thin? Tips on Getting Him to Eat Mo

well, i dropped in 2 large nightcrawlers last night at 10:00 and no dice. They were both hiding under the water dish at 11:00 so I moved them out in front of him again, and I see at least one sitting ON TOP of him.

I'm going to be swinging by the reptile shop to see what other options for feeders they have. At least I know he'll eat a pinkie.

I did drop in 4 crickets on Friday and I only found one, so that might be good, although he should be eating more than 4 crickets. Heck, the Whites eat 5 - 6.

Re: Pacman Too Thin? Tips on Getting Him to Eat Mo

When I got my pac-man he was extremely thin and wouldn't eat a thing. A friend of mine who breeds frogs told me to use a bit of raw chicken (HAS TO BE PROPERLY DEFROSTED to avoid salmonella) and it worked wonderful! After a few weeks we took a piece of chicken and shook it with the crickets (gently) to get him switched, we also scented pinkies with it.

I would be REALLY weary about using raw chicken, it's full of bad potential.

And the method of defrosting has nothing to do with the presence of salmonella.
If the bacteria is there, it's there.
The only way to prevent samonella is to have the chicken thoroughly cooked.

Re: Pacman Too Thin? Tips on Getting Him to Eat Mo

HUNGER STRIKE OVER

I went to pick up a pinkie and "I think all our pinkies turned to fuzzies"

So I took the smallest one they had and dropped it in. Before you lecture me about feeding live, I was at my wits end and all the experienced pacman keepers at my other board were all suggesting live. Pacmans don't really go after things that don't move and tongs don't work since he is afraid for his life when I open the top up.

Well, I dropped in the baby mouse (he was so cute, it was hard for me) and shut off all the lights and walked away. I check an hour later and the mouse was ASLEEP about 3 inches from Meatball. Go figure.

Well Todd didn't sleep last night much and said he heard a mouse squeel at about 3am. Sure enough, fat Meatball, no mouse.

I feel better.

i'm very happy to hear that! it's always stressful when you have an animal that won't eat.
