Nice pictures, you have a very beautiful python there. I'm curious though, can snakes get mites from being outdoors?

Im sure they can get mites from going outdoors but they can also get mites from feeders or the introduction of a new reptile to the collection. Mites are not that hard to treat so why would you leave your poor snake confined to a box all of its life. I am sure they enjoy the little bit of time they get to go exploring the yard if nothing more than for the freash air and the different view. And outdoor pics are so much more interesting than a pic of a ball python in a rubbermaid rack container with newspaper and a water bowl. I feel it is worth the risk of me having to treat mites to allow my snakes a little more enjoyment out of life.

I think you have enough detail there. What you need is a camera with better DOP control, spot metering and a better lens for less purple fringing.

I want to take some outdoor pictures of my little guys so bad, I'm afraid my CWDs would get away but some of my other guys might enjoy it.

Awesome pics,,,the first 1 is my favorite. ANd yes ,,,,snakes can get mites and all kinds of parasites from being outside,,,,not to mention poisoning from lawn chemicals,,,,,etc.

Great pictures considering the camera you are working with!
Does the camera you have now have priority modes, or just presets for 'portrait' or 'landscape' or whatever?
Purple fringe = evil! I've learned to ignore it though since the Sony H1 is pretty bad about it, i've also learned to photoshop it out fairly effectively
