Very nice. The red is very clean and lacking the black speckling that a lot of them have!

Believe it or not, this snake doesn't musk or bite me. It is as sweet tempered as my Corns.

VERY VERY beautiful snake, Brian... I'd love to see more pics of her/him! Although I still try to look at your spiders too, sometimes.

* I'm confused... is a milksnake the same as a kingsnake? Or are there just kingsnakes that look like that? ... don't laugh too loud at that question... I've been having a really hard day!!! (one of those: "I realize I don't know nearly as much about snakes as I thought I did" kind of day!)

So whatever that beauty is: it's gorgeous!!!! PS -- Donna that color is known (in painting) as cadmium red light... a VERY expensive pigment!! (It IS one of the more orangey-reds as opposed to the more blue reds (like coca-cola red)

Nope Blackjack it not you! It can be very confusing. The tricolors contain both kingsnakes and milksnakes. And the scarlet kingsnake is beleived by some to actually belong in the milksnake grouping! The thing that defines a milksnake from a kingsnake is a slight difference in their teeth!

Thanks, Merlin! I guess it's not as clear-cut as I thought. Now I don't feel so bad.
It's a gorgeous snake for sure.
