It took about 12 hours of feasting before the spider finally had its fill.
Speaclk, they pump the mouse body full of digestive enzymes which turns the tissue into a kind of "soup" which is then eaten by the spider.

Really amazing stuff... I'm working on my archnaphobia (sp?) looking at your posts, Brian. It still makes my skin crawl, but at least I can look at the pics longer than before!!
Have a great time in Peru!

I kind of get how you feel. Somehow I really enjoy the larger tarantulas. When it comes to small little itty bitty tiny spiders I freak out!

I can now look at still photos, but as soon as I see them move, I freak... I think I've been traumatized because I saw "The Incredible Shrinking Man" movie when I was really really young.

Iv'e seen that movie but I have always had a thing for spiders, and wondered if I would ever own a big hairy T, now I have 7 they are a really amazing specemine, I just love to watch them, wish I would of studied spiders in some way, I have learned more in 5 months though than I did all my life, its amazing what you learn in such a short time when you keep something.
