Great picture. We just had a lecture on venemous snakes at our club meeting last night. Fascinating how many there are out there and how easy they can be to find if you know where to look.

All the same, I'll stick to corn snakes for now.

BTW, how close were you when you took the picture. It looks really sharp.

I shot it from about 4 feet away @ 100mm with a Canon 40d & 24-105 F/4L. I did crop it from a 4x6 to a 5x7 but that's it.

Really nice pic -- and I agree, glad you saw it before your climbing partner got too close.

That would NOT have made for a nice picture. A beautiful snake, though
