Not a Herp but..

i'm not exactly sure where to post these pics. there isn't really a place to post non reptile pets but I wanted to share some pics of my Senegal Parrot, Shadow. he's so spoiled he has one cage in our computer room where he hangs out when i'm online which is pretty much all the time, and he's got his cage in my bedroom where he only spends time there when I go to work and when I go to bed at night. other then that he's always out. he was a year old on October 23rd. i'm waiting for his eyes to change. that will look so cool! hope you all enjoy the pics and if there is a place to post non herp pet pics please let me know so I can put them in the right spot next time.

Awww, what a cutie, I have a parakeet, she was a rescue, she was badly neglected and had hardly any feathers on her chest when we got her, it was bald, her feathers have grown back now, but she still doesnt trust anyone, she trusts me the most out of my partner and me, if anyone comes now and sits near her she throws water at them, its so funny, she dipps her head in her water bowl and flicks it and she makes sure she has a real good aim too, lol.

What a beauty!

He's beautiful! I'm kind of scared of birds -- early Hitch**** trauma-- but I love to look at them! Can he talk?

Ooops the auto-censor blocked out the rest of the name!! I didn't mean to write anything offensive ! Anyway, you know the guy who did the movie "The Birds"

yea I think Shadow flicks water at people on purpose too sometimes. i got Shadow when he was a baby. a friend of mine who works with me breeds Senegals and I bought him from her and hand fed him until he was weaned so I spent alot of time with him. he's bonded with me the most out of anyone in the family since he's mine but he does let my parents and sister pet him sometimes. when he was a baby his eyes were completely a dark grey color. they have lightened up alot and when he gets older they will turn yellow. that will look so cool. yes Shadow can talk. he says 'pretty bird' 'hey birdie' 'birdie' 'i love you' and he imitates some sounds. he loves to take showers, he'll run across the side of the tub and sit with his face up turned towards the spray. he's as big as he's gonna get so thats one of the things I like. he's not tiny like the love bird I used to have.

i've heard parakeets can talk and i've talked to some people who said their parakeet can talk but i've only heard them whistle. does yur parakeet talk? glad to hear she got all her feathers back. its a shame to hear she was neglected. some people just don't understand what it takes to take care of a pet.

He's a cutie Hhis name suits him perfectly too, with that grey head of his. I love the way it contarsts with his brightly colored body.

lol, BJ, I brought Rupert to school once and there was a in my photography class that had a bird phobia. It was pretty funny, for me anyway I never could understand animal phobias.

Hehe, the stupid computer edited out your member name, so I abbreviated it.

BlackJack you are not alone

Nice looking bird -- but the best part is I have finally found someone who shares my deepest darkest fear.... BlackJack I too am petrified of birds, really bad- to the point that I have been known to cry when they are too close !!! I too believe my fear came from some Hitch**** trauma!

See you can find non-herp related things in common with the people around here!!!!
