Big Green Monster!

Dizzy is going on 4 years old now, finally starting to fill out.
I decided to give him a squeeze and force him to hold still for the camera.

Re: Big Green Monster!

Steph- He is in pretty pristine condition considering the fact that he wasn't doing so hot when he came to me...He lost about an inch of tail a couple years ago and that's it.
No rub damage (despite having wire on the doors of his enclosure) and we've never had any huge problems after the initial getting settled in types of problems...tapeworms, mites, bad diet, etc.
He doesn't have time to be self destructive, he'd rather site and pretend to be a speed bump. I can leave his cage open all day and he might come down to the floor once and then he'll go right back to his perch. He's a ig fraidy cat who never explores unless forced.

Re: Big Green Monster!

What a beaut and he looks like he is quite a heavy fella.. Quite a "Big Green Monster!"

My Ig is almost two and a half but isnt anywhere close to that size.
Do they just suddenly grow faster??

But he looks great

Re: Big Green Monster!

He's been growing at a constant rate since I got him. He's my baby and he is definitely coddled, as much food as he can eat, long baths, big enclosure, fresh UVB lights, and lots of running around.

Could there be something in your husbandry that is effecting his growth? Has he been check for parasites, are his bulbs fresh, how big is is cage? Review those general questions...maybe there is something you've overlooked recently.
