Re: Rtb Pics
She's beautiful! I love the one where she's wrapped up in the chair. And where she's on the linoleum I could just hear her say "ok, cold, mom could you put me up now?"

Re: Rtb Pics
great pictures! My red tail boa loved climbing on anything too. One of his favorite things to do was walk to the park stretched across me and my friends shoulders. He thought we were excellent trees

Re: Rtb Pics
sometimes you have to be careful of taking thenm in public. AQ lot of people have a horrible fear of snakes. They then complain, the right person hears or sees it and next thing you know, they are passing ordinances banning the keeping of certain snakes, red tail boa, being one of them. I know last year when I sat in on the city council meeting here, that was one of the huge problems that arose,,,,,,,people taking their large snakes to the beach and in public,,, creating a hysteria,,,, which made its way to the city council,,, which then got a ban on any snake 10 feet and over. It was originally proposed to any snake 6 feet and over, but we got lucky for now. I find it a lot safer for the general public to not even know you have them. I do not take my snakes out anywhere in public, unless to the vet, lol. With this ordinance,,,, I get inspected all the time to make sure I have nothing 10 feet and over. I find it to be a pain and a little ridiculous, but I have to stop and think of what happened that actually led up to the passing of this ordinance.
Around here it was usually the young military kids, thinking they were cool, thinking they were funny watching people gasp and scream ,etc. What they did not stop to think about,, was the effect it would have on the rest of us who have been keeping big snakes for years. There are many now that dont even make it into my home for treatment or a second chance because of their size,, and in the end they face euthanasia. Very sad ending because a few people liked the reactions they got by carrying their snakes arouind in public...................
please understand I am not trying to be harsh or mean, it is just a fact of life that happens, when a few arrogant ones ruin it for the rest of us. I have ssen to many snakes brought into the animal shelter here and have to be euthanised because of their size, even when I lived in county I could not go and get them, they were already in city, which meant they fell under the city laws and ordinances,,,,,, very sad........... this coming from a no kill shelter

Re: Rtb Pics
That's terrible Nicole! I was lucky because with Nietzsche I lived in a small hippie city. Seeing a 7 foot snake wrapped around some chicks shoulders was not common by any means, but it also didn't start hysterics. I was able to bring him to the park with me without any incidents.
