Is this from that family in India, where the children literally sleep with snakes, harmless and poisonous, to get the snakes used to the family? I seem to remember reading a news article on that awhile back. Something about the floors being covered with snakes of all different types, and the family eating with them at the table, bathing and sleeping with them? I don't remember all the details of that but I remember thinking how unsanitary that would be for the children. I'll have to see if I can find that again.
A brief web search was unsuccessful for me. The story I was referring to is a year or two old.

Different people, different cultures, different ways of thinking.
But yes, it is scary, specially for our so-called "western cultures"

I just think of the Tweety and Sylvester cartoon when Sylvester grabs Tweetie in his mouth and granny is whapping him on the head saying "drop it drop it drop it!!!" Would this happen if daddy came home and said "Where is the baby?"....Gads.....
