White's Tree Frogs

Here are the White's Tree Frogs I inherited (third hand) from someone who bought them for their kids. The kids got bored with them, gave them to someone, who gave them to me.

As you can see, their current tank is far from ideal...

Here is Bip, one of the pair...

Here is a closer shot of Bip...

I was unable to get a pic of Bop, who is currently hiding. So is Bip, now. He didn't care for getting his picture taken. I have added a small basking lamp to bring the tank temp up, and will be adding UV light this evening. All of this is temporary until I can get a larger tank made, of course.

Ok, all you White's tree frog owners. Comments, please? Does Bip look underweight?

Sad how often this happens isn't it? I'm sure they are in good hands now and are going to be happy and healthy in no time.

Really cute picture, I'm glad that they have gone to someone who will take care of them.

So, does anyone know what triggers color changes in White's tree frogs?

In the pics above they are both brown. Now one of them is bright green, and the other is still brown.

Health, temperature, mood, and lighting can all play a part in their color change. Typically they'll be darker the colder they are, but sometimes they just seem to be brown for no known reason.
