well they are very much like Royal (ball) Pythons, no uv needed they do need quite abit of cover in the viv and mine at the mo is heated by a heat mat on a thermostat at 88f but after christmas they will have a spot lamp installed as well but to be honest I only got them yesterday and can't tell you much more than that they don't need very large vivs because they don't grow very big and apparently 4ft is a monster 3ft average mine are about 3ft but I couldn't find much on the web they are very closley related to the childrens python tho

well some general knowledge on them...The Spotted python (Antaresia maculosa) is from Australia. As you said, they are a small species of python with adult lengths of about 3ft. In the wild(norther australia)..they are known to live in or near caves and rock outcrops. Eating rodents and bats.
They are from quite a dry habitat so don't have the humidity to high.
They are easy snakes to keep and your temps sound ok. 90F hot spot and 80F on the cool end.
I know someone who has kept them, will ask if they have any pointers for you.
