Tiger Rattlesnake

6 or 8 years ago, I was a security supervisor at the Chrysler automotive test track here in Arizona. Part of our job was to relocate the rattlesnakes that got too close to the building (like under the shop foreman's desk). I still have some friends out there. One of them sent me some pics of a Tiger Rattlesnake they had to move. This was a big one, closing in a 3 feet long.

Very neat. I love the tongue in the last pic. That's a healthy snake! And I'm impressed that they relocate them rather than kill them.

The Chrysler test track is a wildlife paradise. It's over 10 square miles of natural desert (which will be isolated in the middle of housing developments soon). The entire food chain is abundant, including deer, javelina, bobcats and a (rumored) mountain lion. Killing an animal on purpose, including snakes, is a cardinal sin. They have one of the largest Gila Monsters I've ever seen out there.

ChromeLibrarian,

Those are great pics! I wouldn't want to be the one re-locating them!
