LOL, my husband and I dreamed up a new business the other day. We would design special reptile-shipping containers that are heat- and humidity-controlled. DHL et. al. would lease these units from our company, so they can offer this service (at an upcharge, of course) to their customers. The sender sets the temp and humidity and places the reptile inside. There could be an alarm that sounds if the container isn't kept upright. Once the reptile arrives, the container is returned to DHL so it can be used for the next customer. (Obviously there would need to be an inner, disposable container in order to prevent parasites from being transmitted.) The only (hah!) hitch is that we need lots and lots of people to ship herps so that the shipping companies would think that offering this service is worth the trouble.
Either that, or the kids and I will take our homeschooling on the road and offer personal delivery service in the contiguous 48 states... (For a price -- maybe John can quit his day job and we can all live in a herp-friendly camper. We are just about weird enough, or at least the kids and I are.)
