I was wandering if anyone out there could post some shedding pics for me of their snakes(especially cali kings if any) mainly if something went wrong with the shed so I know what I should be looking out for.

I have not seen a snake shed yet so this would be a great help to me.

In return of this info I promise I will post loads and loads of pics!!!

well if all goes good....snake will start to shed from the head. The shed should come off all in one piece...esp when the snake is young. Once the shed is off check to see that the eye caps came off! That is really about the only thing that could go wrong. If our snake does not shed in one piece you may have the humidity levels wrong..... try spray a few times now before the shed just to help the shedding process and maybe place an object in the enclosure it could use to make shedding easier(as they rub it off against objects, maybe a piece of clean wood).

well all should go good...young snakes usually never have shedding problems. Well never for me...

Chaos Shedding

i hope this works. this is an old thread I started with pics of my Rosy boa shedding. not a Cali king but basically how a snake sheds. hope it helps a little. its the only snake i've been able to snap pics of while shedding. i had some more pics but I can't seem to find them. but you do definitely want to check and make sure the eye caps have shed. you'll be able to see them if you look at the shed from the snake's head.

Haha, youre doing fine. I remember when I first got my corn snakes how nervous I was about everything

i remember when I first got my red tail boa, i was all excited cuz I could tell he was going into shed cuz his eyes clowded over... and then they cleared up and I FREAKED OUT cuz I didnt know they were supposed to do that. was about to call the vet and be all "HE'S STUCK IN HIS SHED! IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!" and then I came home to a perfect shed and a very shiny snake. lol. so relax, you're doing fine =^.^=

thanks for all your reassurance! She has cleared up now so I think its gonna be anytime. I have created a make shift moist box for it as im away on tuesday till thurs so hopefully I will come home to a shiny snake thats a bit happier and doesnt rattle her tail as much!!!
