Defecation?
So, I have had my cornsnake about three weeks now and I have yet to see him defecate. Should I be freaking out? I'm not sure if this is just due to the fact that he is so tiny I'm just missing it altogether, as he has been on aspen chips that I've cleaned out once a week.
Anyway, I switched to newspaper to get a better view of things, and we soaked a few times last week. He seems to be eating just fine, a half a pinky twice a week, or a whole one cut into thirds if it is too fresh to keep.
Is it time to panic, or am I ok?

LoL. The half a pinky was suggested by my vet, he seems to be doing quite well with it, though frankly I am somewhat tramatized. I've never had problems with him taking his food.
The warm side of his cage ranges from 85 at night to about 92 during the day. I've got a heat pad on the bottom and ceramic heater up top.
As for how old he is... I honestly don't know. Measured he is about 15 in. long and weighs .3 oz.

You can get pinks that are only 1 gram, so you wont have to cut them in half.

Whew! That problem is now solved.
I realized we hadn't soaked in in a few days, and thought, hey... why not? Anyway, I put the little guy in a bit of warm water, and five seconds later he gave me a good, clean looking specemin. Lucky me.
Anyway, my panic is slowly dying off and William in happily curled up in my shoulder. Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately my local pet store is about as pathetic as they come and I don't think they carry anything that small... But I'll ask again next time I'm there. The last pinky they gave me was huge!

Oh how I wish... However my mother refuses to allow me to keep the pinkies in the freezer... though I do sneak the uneated pinky half into the fridge disgized as something else.. LoL. Until I get my own freezer, which will hopefully be soon I am forced to make weekly store visits and endure the ignorence of the staff. The curse of being twenty and living with your parents, even if you do love them to death.
Thanks, however, for the advice!
