need advice about snout rubbing

I have already lost a baby chinese water dragon to mouth rot and other infections. And I don't want my new Chinese Water Dragon to get mouth rot from snout rubbing. I've heard that putting something on the sides and back of the tank prevents them from running into the glass as much, but what can I put on his snout to heal it? I really don't want him to get mouth rot and end up having to take him to the vet because the vet killed my last Chinese Water Dragon and there are no Lizard vets closer to me than 2 hours away. So please someone help me. What can I do to make his snout rub better before he gets mouth rot?

Hi bunny and welcome to Herp Center. Here is the best link for snout rub and how to prevent it and how to treat it.

the link Venus gave you should answer your question, what I did for mine was lined the whole outside of the cage with paper so they cant see out and adjusted the lights so they cant see their reflections as much. All 3 of my Chinese Water Dragon had snout damage when I got them

did you put anything on their snouts or did you just line the outside with paper and it got better by itself?

nope, i had to take a trip to the vet, my felmale sally is missing a piece of her snout from it, so its best to get rid of it early, and my youngest male has a crooked jaw from it, when they are young then are psycotic lol, but will calm down once hes older!
