pregnant bearded dragon help.

hey folks... need a little advice.
Can't get Zeek... my little bearded dragon to lay her eggs at all. given her a box full of moistened moss peat and sand on one end of her tank but she is still tearing her tank apart as though she is looking for somewhere to lay. Anyone any advice?

How long has she been digging? They will normally lay when they are ready. Sometimes even digging for a week before laying.

cheers.... just made a proper egg laying box out of a 3 ft by 2ft aquarium and 2 thirds filling it with a gradient of irish moss peat and sand mix.
how long should I put her in there for?
should the laying box be lit and heated?
any info you can give would be appreciated as this is my first clutch.

oh and she's been digging and tearing the viv apart for 3 or 4 days now.

Hello,

I was in a unique situation a few years ago and purchased my female dragon, Phoenix, and she was unknowingly gravid. Seeing as I didn't know she was gravid on purchase, and niether did the owner, I was completely unprepared.

I noticed about 24 hours into her stay with us that she was acting "off" and had started digging. I assumed you was gravid and made her an egg laying box. I used a 5 quart trashcan and made an entry hole on the "lid". I filled the can 3/4 full of vermiculite, sphagnom, and sand (moistened) and placed her inside. It was exactly what she wanted. It was dark and private with a good medium. Perhaps you could try that. (She was free to come and go out of the opening.)

ok. put her into the 3by2 ft aquarium filled to near the top on one side with irish moss peat and sand mix.
she dug for about 2 hours then just wanted out. had no interest in laying.
eggs are visible through her sides and getting a little worried now.
going to try a luke warm bath in the morning then into the box. by the way... covered all sides of tank with news paper on the outside so she has privacy.
cheers for looking in and the advice so far... anyone else any ideas?

I would just leave her in there, make sure she has a basking light on the digging side to keep it warm and her warm...make sure you give her water often, they tire easily from digging.

Ok thanks.... put her back in there after I got home from work.
She dug another borrow but then by the time she'd done that it was here bed time so she just fell asleep in there. Will leave her there over night and see what happens or has happened when I get up.
Wish her and me luck! ;-)
