Dilema

As most of you know by now I recently took in a sick leopard gecko....I've got a bit of a dilema now. He is very tiny and extremely fragile so I am afraid to really handle him. He has a bit of stuck shed that he hasn't rubbed off in his humid hide and I know it needs to come off. Can everyone give me their least stressful suggestions for removing it?
Even if I do take him out to try to pick it off I'm afraid he is going to hurt his jaw biting me (he strikes at anything...he's got alot of spunk for the shape he's in).
Do you think that if I filled up the bottom of his humid hide with warm water and barricaded him in there until the water started to cool that that might work?
I really want to get the shed off of the toes but I don't want him to get hurt or over stressed in the process.
Thanks!

I think the moist hide is a good idea but make sure that he can get his head out of the water without having to work too much because he looks like his neck muscles just couldn't handle it for too long.

Lacey you can dry a bit of oil (i use cod liver oil) on a q-tip and gently rub the spot that still has shed a couple times a day.

I just got some guts and picked him up and picked it off after he sat in his moist hide all day...he didn't struggle but he did try to scoot off my hand onto the floor a couple of times, but then he pushed against the thumb with his front paw rather than my elbow...I was so happy to see him use it that I almost dropped him and started clapping!

Maybe he's getting stronger in your good care? It almost looks like he's holding himself up a bit in the second from last picture that you posted.

I think you are just trying to flatter me so i'll bring you Cleo sooner. I'm just kidding, he does seem to have perked up, but now i've got another problem....He isn't digesting solid foods, I was so happy today because he went poo so I could take it to work and run a fecal but I picked it up and it was just 3 meal worms tightly packed together, so I think i'm going to keep him on just the slurry a while longer and see if I can get anything I can use from him. I think the fact that he's been passing the worms whole might mean that he was doing it when he was with Amy too, so he might not have gotten hardly any nutrients his entire life. Sad Oh well, my hopes are up and i've got a good feeling about him.
