My snake has always been a good eater, but he has not been eating in the past 2 months. He is still active and strong, but he will not go after the prey when I put it in (live mouse). I thought it was because the temperature got too low (his heating pad stopped working), but I now have the temp up to 80-85 degreee on one side of the cage and 70ish on the waterbowl side. Is this something to worry about,? Will he snap out of it? I am not sure if I should take him to a vet. He is still very active and strong when I take him out.

The reduction in temperature may have triggered him into trying to brumate. My Cal King has been very sporadic in eating for the past couple of months. Have you had a parasite check done?

My Cal King also can be sporadic....but he eventually starts eating again .....Lyn

Same with mine he went months without eating but he is back to eating well now, as Merlin said, the temp drop could of triggered brumation.
