How's the humidity in the cage, and the heat? Mine shed often but it seems that it's never in one piece. If you try to soak her for 20 minutes a couple times a day it will help the shed along. I don't think that there's too much to worry about though unless she gets a retained shed which is skin left from a shed for an extended period of time that builds up over several sheds.

The reason for a prolonged shed liek that is low humidity %...your humidity should be around 80% , your temps should be 84-88, 84 cool side 88 warm side...do you have a humididty gauge? If not oyu should get one..how big is your enclosure? To keep the humididty up you shoud mist several times a day and have a water bowl on top of a Under Tank Heater (under tank heater) that also helps keep it up..retaned sheds can be dangerous and end up in the loss of toes..even limbs..you can also soak your little dragon in warm water..about 83 deg...it shouldnt be any hotter or colder then that tho...well good luck and hope I helped!

thanks for the info>>> i am keeping her in a 75 gal aquarium with an addition on top that is 3 foot tall all to gether it is 5' tall 4' long and 2' deep. i was having trouble with the humidity a month ago but since I started using a room humidifier its been staying around 70% on the warm end and 80% on cool end the temps and humidity are right I just wasnt sure how she should be shedding and what is normal. she also has a waterfall that she sits it and scrubbs !! its realy cute she will out grow the water fall soon !!! she also has another water bowl that sits above the Under Tank Heater but she prefers the waterfall!
thanks
chris

lol, yeah they tend to itch alot when they are shedding...it looks cute to us but to them it sucks lol...well your humididty is high enough you may just have a tough shedder...try aloe and see if that helps

Mine is shedding now. He gets in his pool and behaves as a dog scratching his ear. My question is wether I should provide him with something to rub against like a snake.

I cant believe how bright and beautiful the colors under the shed are.

It never hurts to gie him a nice stick or rock to scratch on, I have bricks in the bottom of my iguana and Bearded Dragon cages that they love come shed time!
