Snake wound healing

Warning, not for weak stomachs!!
Just wanted to show how amazingly well Talyn's wound has healed up. Today is exactly one year since she tore a huge piece of skin off her side. (She climbed onto the protective lamp cage, crushed it, then caught herself on a metal spur and ripped open her side.) I took her to the vet as soon as I could get an appointment and she stitched the wound.
The stitches were removed 8 weeks later and with each shed it's healed up more and more.
It's really looking better now and it doesn't bother her at all if I touch there.
Here's a pic of the original wound 26. December 04:

The wound stitched up:

And today 26. December 05

When she got cut, I asked around if anyone knew about wound-healing in snakes. (Fortunately) not too many people could tell me. So here it is, in case you were curious.

Thanks for the information and the healing process. I was wondering about the shedding process after being sutured.

She has recovered excellantly Andrea! You've done a great job with her. If you didn't know it was there you would never notice the scar!
I guess this makes you our resident expert on snake wound healing!

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback everyone! She is doing extremely well and I am really surprised by how fast the healing process took place.
To answer some of the comments:
The sutures did not affect the shed too much. She shed once when the stitches were in: The whole skin came off in one piece, but there were just a few tiny patches of skin that stuck around the stitches. These were easy to get off with tweezers.
After the stitches came out, she shed regularly (a bit more often) and there were no more problems about the skin sticking to the wound.

Merlin: I hope this is the extent of my "snake wound expertise"!! I never want to have to go through something like this again -- EVER!!
I swear, I thought she'd die or have to be put down because of this, but it hardly ever seemed to bother her at all.
