My water dragons have been on their med for longer then 2 weeks now...Ive been giving them their med faithfully 2 times a day as directed by my vet for 2 weeks..well they have their appetites back, but the mouthrot seems to be getting worse instead of better, and I dont know what to do...i want to take them back to the vet but whats he gonna do?? give me more med that dosnt work? Anyone had experience with mouthrot before?

What meds are you giving them? Are you just using a topical antibiotic? In my experience I find an oral or injectable antibiotic (sometimes combined with a topical) works best.

Do they have snout damage? or just infection in their mouth?

With water dragons, especially if they have snout damage, they seem to get mouthrot that goes right into the jaw bone and end up with an infected jaw bone and lose part of their jaw. You have to really watch them for infections and be fairly aggressive with the infection when one is noticed.

If they are getting worse it sounds like another trip to the vet might be in order.

yeah, an oral topical antibiotic is what ive been giving them and yes the male had fairly bad snout damage when we got him from petco and ive been keeping them in the same cage, so I guess thats how my female got it too, but hers seems to be getting alot worse then the males..shes also a bit younger..andim def. gonna make another app for em on monday... poor guys...thanks for your advice!
