Not having enough coverage in his tank will stress him out, I think you need to do a bit more research. These guys do not sit around in open fields in the wild, why would they feel safe doing so in captivity. They need cover!

As for your other comments, I work in rescue, rehabilitation and education, I have seen far more than you can imagine, have seen animals with "dead tails" die within hours because their irresponsible owners didn't feel that they needed to see a vet, have spent my time, energy and money to get animals healthy because Irresponsible owners thought they knew what they were doing and didn't listen to the advice given them.

Newspaper is perfectly fine for use in reptiles, the ink is soy based and does not put off "fumes" to make you feel better I currently have paper towel in all of my reptile cages!

I have a very hard time believing that his tail healed up, but miracles do happen... he will still have the toxins in his blood, but you don't want to hear that.

just wanted to say his tail didnt just heal in 6 hours its been around 3 weeks now and i dont care if you belive me or not and i know corn snakes dont just lay in open fields all day they dont climb all day either im gonna buy more climbing stuff for him but ur acting like my care for him is horrible since the bad shed i give him a bath once a week and mist his cage he has a bowl that he can go in the cool side temp is in the 70s the hot side is in the 80s/90s he as a fake tree to bask on the hot side he has 2 hides and i put more aspen in his tank because he likes makeing tunnels cut me some slack glad to hear you use paper towels and news paper is not fine to use look it up and i came here for advice for my snakes tail and i would take him to a vet still but i would just look dumb his tail has healed some way when he shed the dead tip of his skin was on the end of his is shed there looks like there is nothing wrong with his tail believe it or not im just glad hes better and the reason why he wasnt moveing because he was gonna shed every time he sheds he stays in the same spot all day since i first got him and you dont know if he has toxins in his tail what did you do ask my snake if he does lol if some thing is wrong with him thier should be at least a few sighns some thing is wrong with him dont waste my time ok and he has cover lol he has 2 hides and alot of aspen so he can make tunnels

It would be much easier to believe you if your story didn't change.

I decided to peel it off with my nails took awhile but I got it all off this was about 2 weeks ago his tail just looks squeezed and the tip of it is black its tail

When you started talking about it was this yesterday afternoon at 3:27, it apparently was still there. Then at 9:44 You tell us that the tip fell off and the tail is healed.

I did, many years ago. And have used it for everything.

sorry merlin i said a few wrong things and yeah the black tip was there then when he sheded the black tip was attached to his shed and if any one gets thier ciruclation cut off thier most likely going to get a blood clot and and then get an infection for your info and type in reptiles and news papers you will fins some stuff to read

But I didn't really think that you could provide it.
The problem is that Black and white newspaper has been proven safe not only for reptile cages but for bedding for domestic food animal production. Many years ago your claim may have had some value but the inks used now are the same pigments used in tatoo ink and makeup and hair coloring.
