adopted ig with mdb

hello I just adopted a 9 year old female iguana she was great the first couple of days but hasnt eaten at all she has mdb BAD or it seems bad to me she has temors involentary movements , its starting to worry mr today is the 8th of feb we got her on 27 of jan she hasnt eaten anything but what I have been force feeding her with a large syringe, i dont know if it was a good idea but I made her a sort of smoothie today with good variety of stuff loaded up with rep cal supplements both calcium and multi vitamin , she was on a horrible diet of iceberg lettece, romaine, and canned green beans, with out the proper lighting, shes beautiful potty trained and a roamer I do not want to lose her shes like a child but I dont know what to do, i was refered to a herp vet but i'm scared to call and say its going to be to expensive, but dont get me wrong I would pay as much as I would HAVE to but I just moved out on my own and things are tight anyone know what it would cost to get her back on straight the herp store that refered me metioned something about a supplement shot to take care of the cal defecit and info would help thank you kyle

Sorry Kyle, but there's no getting around a vet visit with this. There's probably more than "just" Metabolic Bone Disease involved here. I'm not sure where you are, but here's a list that should help you find a good, no--GREAT--herp vet:

GIS Recommended Vet List

Explain your financial situation to the vet and see if he/she's willing to take payments for the visit.

I agree. A vet is necesssary and as soon as possible! Where are you located? Maybe someone can advise you of a vet in your area.

What sort of stuff? And do you have her under a UVB light? What type and brand?

There are other ailments to consider as well; kidney failure, impaction and a whole bunch of things only a vet can help out with. At 9 years old A vet stop is a must.
