my older anole isn't feeling well. One of his eyes looks pretty bad, to be honest. I only noticed today after I saw him sitting on his branch with the eye turned towards me. I moved him out of the terrarium (he lives with another anole) and I've fed him by hand (he usually catches crickets himself, but he looks like he hasn't eaten in a day or two).
As for the eye, it really bothers him and he tries to scratch it against branches/my hand. He also doesn't hunt himself or run around like usually. He just sits there. For some reason, he also opens his mouth really wide quite often. The infection (or whatever it is) looks like it has also affected skin around the eye.
I can only get him to the vet on Saturday, is there anything I can do until then?
Right now he's in a 10 gallon vertical terrarium. Humidity is around 70% and temperature about 78-80F (too warm?). He only has real plants in there and a branch to sit on. No crickets running around or anything. I have a UVB light on most of the day and mist them with water on a regular basis. I grow my own crickets, so they're full of veggies + calcium. Tomorrow I'll stop by a pet store and pick up some meal worms for him.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
