I bet the a/c people are staying busy! Our weather is comparable, we'v got all of the windows covered with this reflective stuff, we're running the sprinkler on the roof and running fans,,,and thats all with the a/c working.
Best of luck, it sounds like you are doing okay. I wouldn't worry about the gecko too much, focus on the newt.

They all seem to be doing better then expected. Right now it is cooler then yesterday. I changed the water for the newt...but the temps is still high..I think I am going to get a new guage cause this one may not be very accurate. Thanks!

Lacey sounds like you got hotter weather then me! We now have a ban on our water....drought now...well good luck to you all too =)

Pick up a window unit from wal-mart, when you get the A/C fixed return it. Or keep it in case this happens again.

It's rather mild down here in Florida for this time of year, I just got back from a run, the humidity takes it's toll though. All I have is fish tanks now, I have a few frozen bottles of water in case of any mishaps, just drop them in.

They are doing fine though. It has gotten somewhat cooler today. It is going down slowly throughout the week, so by Friday it will be back to the low 80's!

When you get a new unit it will cost you. Since the epa has changed rules on R22 youll have to have a 410a unit. Which means a new unit, line set, and coil. It can be costly. Be warned lol. Hope it all gose well. the Window unit is a good idea for short terms.

Still no unit...

but ithas cooled down~too much last night! It was pretty hot during the day and then last night it dropped to 68! and my poor Sunshine was so cold! I turned her heat back on...GEEZ I felt so bad! How was I to know? She is ok now that she is warm again..it was 82 today so that is better.

My poor Newt was suffering yesterday! I had to ice the water down with a frozen 2 liter, which worked wonderfully! The poor thing was trying so hard to get out of there it was horrible (the water was 82!!!)...but she was fine after I got it back down to 75 and then during the night it dropped to 68...she liked it, but my poor lizards after being so hot and no lights..it drops like that and they didn't have the lights on!

I can't take this I feel terrible. Another thing that has me worried is the humidity on my leo..it was 66% yesterday )and I know that can cause problems can't it?) and then the cold last night! I am sick about it =(

I hope they will be alright.

edit: My crabs have suffered the same as my leo.. and I haven't seen them today =( I hope theya re not DEAD! I did see one..but I have 6 and they are hiding.
