eye caps
got a brazillian rainbow boa.had it for four years.and every shed ive had no problems.but for the last two sheds the eye caps have stayed on and I dont know why.ive asked a local vet and he says itll clear up after the next shed is he right.if it doesnt clear up is there anything that I can do ie remove them myself

You can try putting him in a sack made out of material with a damp cloth that he can rub against. Sometime this helps.

Are you postive that they are on? Ive known people say that eyes are stuck when infact they arent and blind thier snake.

When Colleen said sack she is talking abut a wet pillowcase. Put a wet towel and the snake in the pillowcase, knot it, and leave it in the enclosure overnight. The extra moisture and the snake moving against he roughness of the towel should solve the problem.

Ok you caught me, I don't know what size a rainbow boa is...I was afraid to say pillowcase incase the snake wouldn't fit inside. LOL My common had to have a custom case out of material made as he won't fit in a pillowcase.

now the pillowcase is in the snake enclosure.the pillowcase is wet also the towel.also made sure that there airholes for the snake too breath.will update tommorrow

you dont need airholes int he pillow case....your snake may try to go trough them and get stuck. they will get air through the pillow case.

Nate's right even wet cloth will allow enough air to pass thru. I have used this technique many times.
LOL! Colleen. Rainbows aren't quite as large as your common boa.
