Mites near eyes / mouth / nose etc

I figured I'd generalize the title for anyone with similar situation(s).

We recently acquired a shipment of U. Phantasticus and are in the process of dealing with the mites, apparently inherent to Wild Caught specimens. Using the recommended Reptile Relief and a Q-tip (cotton swab) we have removed quite a few but have found one mite in the corner of the eye (right where you have crusties in the morning, near where a humans tear ducts would be.)

Whats the best way to handle that mite?

Side note how do mites propagate (sexual/asexual) and how do I keep them from spreading to other herps, and I'm assuming maybe erroneously that they aren't able to live on warm blooded animals?

Thanks
-Paul

Make sure you keep these guy in a sperate room from the others. Work with all your other herps first, to make the risk of transporting them lesser. Wash your hands before you touch any of your herps to prevent spreading. House them on paper towels to make it easier to see the mites and easier to clean. I have read people people will soak the herp in a solution of Betadine and water, others just use oil in the water. Make sure you look under the arms etc where they could hide. Make sure you disinfect the cage daily to prevent hatchlings from re-accruing. Remember I'm no expert, this is just what I have read or heard.
