Eye trouble
yesterday I noticed my monitors right eye was looking kinda ick, and it had some dirt in it. I promptly put him under some weak running water and the dirt washed out and his eye looked alright. Well today I was holding him and I took a look at the eye again. It apears to be depressed, and there is fluid surrounding it. Also at closer inspection he appears to keep wanting to roll it back into his head... Is it possible he has an eye infection? Or could he still have dirt in there?

It could be either,,since he was out and about for so long, who knows what might be in his eye. You might visit a vet for some eye drops or try rinsing it again.

Im with Marsha, you dont want to risk an infection so close to the brain so you should get him some eye drops from your vet, explain to him how long ginko was loose as well.

I really hope my vet knows something about herps... its a small town kinda vet that does mostly cats and dogs... are there any over the counter eye drops I could use from walgreens or anything like that just in case my vet can't help me?

I agree....there are some over the counter products useable on reptiles, but not all are safe. Best to go to a vet.

I know that you shouldn't use visine for red eyes on dogs and cats so I probably wouldnt try to wash the eye with that. In the past my herps that have gotten eye infections have been treated with the same ointments that we use in cats and dogs.
