New Monitor cage
Well yesterday our new monitor cage arrived, 2 x 1 x .8 meters (or 6' x 3' x 2.5' for the people in the US), I got it put together and the ground form of the background done. Tomorrow will be forming the edges of the foam and coating the whole inside with polyester hard and sand.

Re: New Monitor cage
Gonna be sweet
. Say what exactly is polyester hard. Is it styrofoam? I'm just not familiar with that term. Are you putting Savs in it?

Re: New Monitor cage
Thanks for all the great comments. It's really coming along better than I had thought. Though I misjudged the amount of epoxy I needed and need to order another can to make it though. So it may not be done for a week or so.
kriminaal - Polyester hard is a polyester based epoxy. It's thicker than normal epoxy resin and gives a good hard plastic like shell to whatever you put it on. Also it's food grade when dry. A few criminal use it to produce their reptile products. I belive that zoo-med uses a simular resin for poring their waterfalls. ![]() ![]() After the second can of epoxy. Before cleaning out the rest of the sand. |
