There is really no "cheap" way to build a cage. If you go to greenigsociety.org, there are a few designs, the plywood one is about as cheap as it gets. bear in mind that you have to have air circulation, but also be able to keep in heat and humidity

A good place to start to keep costs down is garage sales. Look for old armoirs or other large furniture that can be converted into an enclosure. Another idea is to use an extra closet and make changes to it.

About the cheapest way of housing an iguana I have seen is a sort of tent like contrivance that one of our members built. Its made of PVC pipe and heavy canvas. If you have someone who is good at sewing you could build something like this though it would need to be much larger.

I use a simple wood frame with plastic mesh on the front and one side. The back and other side is corrogated plastic. I think it's called templast, it's so easy wipe away the snalt. I line the floor with linoleum. You could ask around at local stores who use large dealer signs, when the promotion is over they usually toss out the material.
