Ideas for a 75 gallon tank
I just got a 75 gallon tank for 20 dollars, and I dont really know what to put on it, i was thinking on putting maybe 4 or 5 chinese cave geckos and plant it and put branches and wood and to make the background with the great stuff foam and coconut fibers , like how they do it with the poison dart frog tanks, any other ideas?

I haven't posted any pictures yet, but our 75 is on end, with a ficus for the satanics.
A word about using "great stuff foam" the stuff Brian used on the 10 gallon frog terrariums your referring is black, we used window/door great stuff (doesn't grow that much, and I had 3 cans laying around) when it expands you need to add more coco or forest floor, but even adding more you still see the tan foam behind it. Also as I mentioned it grows, with the window/door 3 cans gave us about an inch over the entire thing with gaps (you could still see the glass) it grew to cover the glass, and ended up 3 inches in the thinest.

Yeah, if you use the regular yellow Great Stuff, you can cover it (once it's fully cured) with a layer of black 100% silicone, and stick the coco fiber to that. That hides the yellow. Here's a link to a "construction journal" I created for the 40-gal vivarium I just made for our crestie: http://www.herphabitats.com/showthread.php?t=742 The journal includes what worked and what didn't. Maybe you can learn from my successes and failures! (So far pretty successful -- I moved our little guy in last night, and he seemed practically overwhelmed with his freedom! But happy...

No offense ajvw, but wouldn't using black foam in the beginning but advantageous?

No prob, though -- I think I see another viv in my future... So thanks for the link!

Vivariums are addicting, you can have just one . . . always something you could have done differently, not even better just differently.

Yes, my addictions are growing! First it was just coffee, then reptiles (thanks to all you people and your obsessions -- it's contagious!), and now vivariums. My brother-in-law was over this weekend and admired the viv I made, then described his idea for creating a "living wall" in the house he's building for himself. My mental wheels are spinning... My husband's eyes are rolling! My bank account is shrinking! Argh! The symptoms are becoming acute, I tell you!
