Sorry to hyjack, but I have some ideas brewing in my head as well and I'm curious about the water resistant qualities. I know they claim to be water resistant, but what of standing water? Toxicity? Water running over it like a stream.

I ask because I'd rather not buy more items if this'll do.

If your referring to the Polyurethane Foam it actually requires water to "harden" and is weather proof, standing water - well it's a plastic it'll be around for eons, toxicity - Now don't quote me but once it's cured it's non-toxic, The only thing I know it does not like it UV when left in the sun it turns brown and get brittle, however cover it with something else (ie coco-fibers, moss whatever) I'm betting it will act as the aggregate on an asphalt shingle does, (protects the asphalt from the UV making the shingle last for 20, 30, 40 years).

The living wall sound like what Jody would like to do with the archway between the living room and kitchen.

That they are; but I ask because with polyurethane glues a joint that's not tight will allow bubbles to form resulting in a weak bond and more often than not I have a customer coming back complaining that the glue I sold him did not work. (Ace Hardware: Support your locally owned stores )

Most of the conversations of failure are often caused by not clamping (allowing gaps to form) and then either adding weight or often times by the women stating that the glue doesn't hold up to dishwashers. (Though they do if you clamp them. I use our products. Plus Gorilla glue works in repairing holes in your off-road tires if you get a flat on the trail, heh)

Point being, Great stuff (open cell) isn't a tight bonding purpose product like the glues, but with the different ingredient cues, I thought I'd ask since few here have used it. I've read it being water resistant and water proof (can't recall the label until tomorrow), so I do not know for sure.

Maybe I should coat the areas that are going to be soaked in water with latex and a mixture of sand.

Thanks for the help.

I'm not a fan of latex, i dont buy the hype, for me if it doesnt have VOC's it's just not that good.

So I'm confused are you using this as a water tight seal? If so I have my douts if this would be a product of choice.

I'm actually aiming for a pond like situation but the entire flooring area will be "Great Stuff", so with standing water I'm wanting something to coat over that area to keep the Great Stuff from not turning into something not so great.

Assuming Great stuff won't handle standing water.
