croc blood to help humans
Crocodilians have amazingly powerful immune systems. They need it. Now we might be able to benefit from that. Hopefully we can, which would probably ensure greater protection of crocs and their habitat.

That's fantastic Matt, great news story. Wouldn't that just be fantastic, and yes, hopefully as a bonus it might teach humans a new respect for crocs and other scaly things.

Wouldnt that be phenominal. Agreed Rachel, maybe non-reptilian people would learn to respect the scalier things in life

Generally, this is nothing new. Studies have been going on Crocodillin for several years and thoughts on curing many of our own diseases has been questioned. I have questioned Adam about it affecting HIV several years ago after Crocodillin was recognized..
For awhile, we all thought that the antibiotic only affected bacteria, and due to funding, the research could not be extended any further than it already was. Only recently has this Antimicrobial peptide (as well as non-peptided bases) gone beyond bacterial studies due to pairing up with Mark Merchant, who too has been studying this material and has based it's feats to be truely astonishing.
Hopefully, the claimed statements follow through.
And as Mat stated, hopefully these animals will be viewed differently.
