There are some really sick, twisted people out there!! Human beings are capable of such incredible acts of brutality...

I can't imagine an owner for whatever reason doing that to his/her own snakes. Even if they suddenly had no job/money; they'd find a rescue for their animals, I would think.
My guess is it was a relationship/revenge thing... someone got dumped and decided to take revenge out on his/her partner's collection... Vicious, but conceivable -- "they go after what you love"! (actually I heard that line in a mafia movie, but it's true -- hit 'em where it's really gonna hurt!)

My first thought as well Andrea. This reeks of a revenge thing. These snakes were worth a lot of money and it wouldn't make sense to just pitch them. Unless it was someone so weathy that money was inconsequential.
It is still an incredibly horrific thing to do!

It never ceases to amaze me what drugged up idots will to for revenge on a drug deal gone bad...so of course they wouldn't report their snakes stolen.
