When you say hides do you mean shelters? I have two, one at either end of the tank, and a heatlamp thing at one end. I put the water at the end opposite the lamp. She doesn't seem particularly interested in the shelters though. She's been in one only two or three times, and ignored the other. I keep the temperature in the high seventies through the day and at lowest seventy-two at night. Would she ignore food if it wasn't very warm?

Yes someplace for them to hide and feel safe. 2 is good!

How warm is the basking spot. It needs to be 85-90 degrees

Yes if the food isn't warm enough it may not be percieved as food. And if the enclosure isn't warm enough they can't digest food and may not feed.

When we got our first two corns one wouldn't eat for 3 weeks of course we all went nuts. Now sometimes he refused to eat a week or two before he sheds other time he'll eat up till the day he sheds. We have finally learned that he will eat when he is ready. So I don't sweat it when he doesn't eat any more, well maybe just a little bit. LOL
