What batteries are members using?
Not sure if I'm in the right forum for this question. Redirect if you wish. But I have those expensive 2200 maH panasonic rechargeable batteries. They are terrible. I can put fresh ones in and go to use my camera three days later and they are dead. Same thing if I charge my other set. They drain out in about three days just sitting in the drawer. Can anyone recommend a good product that lasts longer?

It's a digital camera, if you have a LCD on it that's what it's going to do...try getting the "Juice" rechargable camera batteries they're suppose to not have memory so they stay charged for longer...I use Energizer digital cam batteries I do believe its the maH ones

Mine don't even seem to have a brand name, They just have the writing.....rechargeable 2000mAh, they are Ni-MH batteries and last for days with alot of use with a 512 mb card (which I've filled without loosing power) I also sometimes go weeks without using the camera and have never lost a charge.

Yes mine are the Nickel Metal Hydride batteries. I use AAA for my MP3 player and they work great. The AA's for my camera really bite though. I'll have to inquire at the store where I bought them and see what they say.

I run the Energizer / Ever-Ready brand NiMH and in most things they outlast the alkalines but not in my camera. One thing you need to check is the voltage they output. A standard alkaline typically pushes 1.6 V new and states 1.5 V output. However many rechargeables run at a stated 1.2 V. In many things this does not matter much but other things, like some cameras, need the 1.4 V or higher.

I use Sony NiMH batteries and they hold a charge for a very long time, i'll charge up 6-10 sets for vacations or roadtrips and get a few hundred shots out of each set.
Be sure to limit the use of energy zapping features like using the LCD sceen, the flash, or the auto review. |
