Lost lizard in garden

Hi.I lost one of my sailfin lizards today. It's not the first time I lost a lizard but it's the first time I lost one for more than an hour.My garden is big and if it gets out of my garden then it's in somebody's house. So I'm trying to find it before that happens.I don't know anything else to do other than wake up early tomorrow morning because it will have to look for water to defecate in as it usually does.Any better ideas?I am not about to lose hope yet.

Hello,

Good luck in the search and keep us posted. I wish I had some ideas for you but other than "hide and seek", nothing comes to mind!

Try and lure him out with food. Put it in the same place very day to get him to recognize it as a feeding area. Depending what's in your garden though he might be content to eat what's there. Something else that has worked for me is to get a group of kids to search. They are smaller and have a different view of things. Good luck.

Hahaa, I would never have thought about kids, but they sure are thoruough. They're also overenthusiastic, though, so make sure there's a bossy little girl there to make sure they don't step on it;p

Hrm, with my Chinese Water Dragon I left out little pools of water for her to climb in, but I don't know how much this species of lizard likes water.

Good luck finding it!

I looked all over the garden yesterday afternoon and last night but I did not find my lizard.I am going to be asking my neighbors if I can search their gardens today.I also started putting tubs of water under trees in my garden because my lizard likes defecating in them in the morning which can give me some clues.I hope I find my lizard today though.
