temps getting to hot now, ugh!
hey guys! I just can't win! It is always something. I think I am going to name my Tokay Trouble =) it seems to fit, lol. What do you all think? Anyway, now that the heat outside is rising the heat in the aquarium is going way up. Today the temps got to 105 on the warm side and 80 on cool!!!! I raised the lamp up to the next shelf about 1.5-2 feet. I am hoping that should solve it...or at least until I can get a lower watt bulb maybe 75? Bummer though because I just bought these ones (100 watt) because it was too cool at least at night it got to 65 when a cool front came along>but now I guess summer here or at least on its way. I guess I can save the other bulbs for winter, lol.

In an emergency overheating situation you can use the ice cube drip system. Simply put an ice cube or two on the screen lid, over a bowl or cup, let the ice melt on it's own. It lowers the air temp, raises the humidity and offers a water supply for thirsty critters!

You need a dimmer switch. It's very handy for turning the lamp down to get the proper temps. You can buy ones that the lamp plugs into. Or cheaper is wiring one yourself.

I wouldn't know where to start I guess I am not too handy I would probally kill myself trying lol just kidding. When I raise the lamp haigher the temp got lowered to 70, but that is cool for the warm side and the cool side was 70 also. I think the ice cube trick is my best be until I can get lower watt bulbs...thanks for the tip as usual
