Taking pets with you to Hawaii

Correct Savannah, or at least when I lived there. The only herps allowed are for research and zoo's. all of which have to be licensed. The animals also must go through a lengthy quarantine. There are no opportunities for private citizens to own one.

I actually can't say that I blame them for not wanting intruduced species. That settles it, I'm never moving to Hawaii!

Yeah its a pain to even get mammals into Hawaii.

They now have established iguana colonies on a couple of the islands and they are thriving which makes officials a little ticked off!

Yeah they imported some dart frogs (dendrobates auratus) to the islands to control a bug population, now there's nothing to control the dart frogs. With a fishing license your allowed to collect a few and bring them back to the states. Hawaii is a hotspot for animal diversity, I wouldn't doubt if any herp could find a niche somewhere on the islands.

I thought living in California was lame when it came to exotic pets. Thats it I'm moving to Texas where they don't care about the environment.
