need advice on vitamin supplement and night heat.
hey friends,
#1 I'll start with the vitamin powder supplement question. I have been using this herpative multivitamin powder (I think that is a close spelling of the brand) I wasn't sure if there is a better one suggested or if it is wrong all together. I actually got it from someone, so I haven't really been out shopping for any> I don't know where to start. #2 Since we put the air conditioner on, my gecko hasn't been moving around so much...not even to the heat lamp during the day....I'm alittle concerned because his color has gotten dark and he always seems to stay in the corner lately. He usually sleeps close to the heat lamp. (also, the heat temp has been getting to 95 degrees sometimes, so it might be warm enough in the corner closest to the lamp where he has been staying...I don't know) The temp is around 65 degrees at night, so I bought an infared night heat bulb today. I didn't know what to get, there were all sorts of different kinds. Will this work or should I get something else? Do you think this is why he isn't moving around or eating (that I have noticed) at night (or during the day)? I thought he wasn't eating because of the changing of his aquarium, but I thought that maybe he need heat at night because he doesn't have the heat rock anymore. thanks guys, talk you you later, Paige |

Do you have theromters in his enclosure? If not Id suggest you getting 2, one for the warm side and one for the cool side. Without the proper heat your leo wont be able to digest his food, so hes not gonna eat. He will also turn darker and become very inactive. Low temps are dangerous for the leo. Try getting a higher wattage of light bulb. Here is our leo caresheet, it has everyhting you need to know about proper temps and heating

hey>sorry I have a tokay...I don't have a temp gauge for the cool side, only the warm side. I use 100Watts which gets the warm side to 90 degrees. My tokay has been in the corner on the warm side, but he usually sits under the lamp during the day. I am worried because I haven't seen him eat (when I put the crickets in) but I have noticed that there are less crickets now...he just isn't acting like he used to since the air conditioning went on and my Aunt visited and stayed in his room, but the air is off for now (maybe for a week or so and my Aunt went home and still he is acting strange) I was watching him after I put the red night heat lamp in> it gets about 90 under the light, so I might need to get a lower watt next time. He still hadn't moved Maybe cause he knew I was there.

it's cool...I should have wrote it> I can't expect you to remember everything LOL sorry from me to. Anyway, He did move today, but I am keeping a close eye out. I think he may have been mixed up since my Aunt stayed up at strange hours and the temp from the air and then it was off and then the night heat. I guess he will be alright. If he doesn't change I will ask for more HELP.
