This is weird! Has this happened to anyone?

I only fed my Tokay crickets...but I tried these superworms to vary the diet alittle. I put five in a dish and the gecko didn't seem interested, but after acouple days...the worms had holes chewed in them. It was gross! I don't know if the crickets ate them or what, but I don't think it was the gecko. What else could I try to feed and should I try th superworms again? Also, when I put these superworms in the bowl should I leave the stuff (food I guess) they come in with them?

It's possible the crickets nibbled at them,,though more likely they ate themselves. Most superworms some in a container with sawdust, i would not leave that with them in your Tokays bowl. You could try waxworms for a variety, though being high in fat they are better as a once a week treat. Best of luck

Dont leave super worms in a dish in your tokays cage, as they bite and are rather aggressive feeders. When feeding them to your tokays squish their heads...so they dont bite your monsters

Thanks so much! I didn't know they bite! AND I TOUCHED THEM!!! I didn't get bit thank goodness =) Ya know, my newt ate the crap out of them though. I hope she didn't get hurt. She was acting strange yesterday. I thought she just ate too much or is getting old. She is normal now. I will have to see if the petsmart has wax worms. Should I try pinkys for my gecko?

I am sooo excited! I won a perfect rock fountain on ebay for my geckos tank and I bought this great tropical background for it. It will look fantastic. I can't wait to get pics to show!

I just started a new colony of superworms because the Leopard Geckos love them. I love them because of how active they are. The babies are just as active as the adults so I like to toss them in a dish with some mealies and let them keep the mealies active. As most know, mealies like to go dormant once in the feeder dish and some Leopard Geckos prefer active prey!

Even in the colonies, some superworms will get eaten. This is often as a source of moisture. I have found that leaving a small slice of carrot in the dish helps prevent this.

I don't think I am going to get the superworms again. I don't know. Do they still move with the heads smashed or do they die? I am sure my gecko is tired of crickets, and I am tired of the chirping! I don't think my gecko has been eating as much. I am not sure if it is because the diet or me adding to his set up. I do know it isn't as fat as some of the pictures I seen of Tokays on here. He (I think a he now =) isn't skinny, but not fat. I also noticed that the tail isn't as long. I am guess the previous owner broke his tail. I can see a indent or ring at the tip, so I think it has started to grow back.
