Hey everyone how are you?

This site has given me so much help with my Red tail. I have learned so much as to how to properly take care of him. But I have a new concern.

I want to start him on large rats...he is on medium now and I feed him once every two weeks. If I start him on larger pray items, should I decrease his feeding to once a month or should I continue to feed him every two weeks? I have found verying answers to this....Im really not sure what to do. Any experienced herps with advice? Thankyou

I would continue with the same schedule you have him on now. He is growing, so you are upping his food to the next size, thats the only difference...Hope that helps, more answers to come I know

I agree. Continue to feed every 2 weeks...if he refuses after the first increase in size...maybe move to 3 weeks...or reduce the size of the prey again.....Lyn
