Urgent help needed 2ft iguana

Ok folks. Need real help here. Woke up this this morning to find someone has thoughtfully left me an iguana in a pet carrier on my front doorstep. No note nothing. Just a 2ft iggy and a pet carrier!?!
Looks healthy. But problem is I know very little about iguana's.
At this size are they vegetarian or still like a little meat? what temps? like humidity don't they?
Really need advice quickly of don't have time to in through thousand's of care sheet to sort out the ****.... all my net access is limited to surfing on my mobile!
So... any advice truely appreciated.
Andy

They need basking temps around 90-95 degrees. Exceeding these temps will cause the tank to “ dry out “.

Cooling Area
Iguanas need to maintain their bodies’ temperature. The lowest point in the enclosure should have another thermometer and be maintained around 78- 84

Not sure about humidity but I think around 80% is good, according to my book, lol

Make sure you provide UVB exposure also.

The do eat veggie veggies veggies...here is a list of the staples to start out with..
Staple (Give Daily)
Greens
Collard Greens
Mustard Greens
Dandelion Greens
Turnip Greens
Escarole
Chicory
Parsley

Hope this helps some,,,better answers will come soon I am sure

Iguana care is very specific. There is too much for a single post or thread but

First Diet (condensed version)
An iguana's diet should contain the following each day:
70-80% calcium rich Greens: Collards, mustard greens, turnip greens, dandelions, arugula, watercress are the better ones. Kale, beet greens, chicory greens and escarole used in combination with the better greens are also good. Stay away from lettuces (except for a very occasional treat) because they have very very little nutrition if at all and the iguana will fill up on it and not eat the nutritional food--in otherwords it is junk food. Spinach should only be used occasionally because it is way too high in oxalates and phospherous. The oxalates bind with the calcium making it undigestable and the phospherous binds with calcium in the blood making the calcium there useless. But spinach is high in iron so it is good if only used very occasionally (1-2x a month maybe).
20-30% vegetables: Winter squash (acorn, butternut, kabocha, ect..), green beans, snap peas, okra, parsnip, yucca root. Summer squash (zuchini, yellow, mexican or white, ect...) occasionally is good too. Red, yellow, and orange bell peppers are good color enhancers.
No more than 10% fruit: Blueberries, figs, mango, papaya, and prickly pear (cactus) are the better fruits. Strawberries, raspberries, black berries and melons are good. Flowers should be considered a fruit
NO ANIMAL PROTEIN OF ANY KIND

Temps of enclosure
Basking: 92-98
Ambient (overall): 80-85 (the coolest spot should not be lower than 75)
Night time overall or ambient should never get lower than 70-75. I keep mine at 80-85 though

General Care Information (online):
HCN Iguana Care Articles
Melissa Kaplan's Iguana Care Pages
GIS Green Iguana Care Information

Books:
Green Iguana: The Ultimate Owner's Manual by James W Hatfield III
Iguanas for Dummies by Melissa Kaplan
Both are excellent resources. I have found them at very reasonable prices at Amazon.com

Hope this helps

That is because iguanas are very much a creature of habit. Changes will stress them. It will cause them to go off food and bring out behavioral changes. It would be best to take it to a qualified reptile vet to get an initial wellness assessment done. If it hasn't been socialized in the past you have a long taming and socialization chore on your hands. There are taming and socialization sections in the online resources listed.

It is best to give the iguana a period to settle in--1-3 weeks. Just handle when necessary--feeding and cleaning of cage. Spend time just being near him without handling him--maybe talk to him.

Well this site is a great place to learn. You can get a lot of help at Iguana Center (part of HCN) along with the links I posted. Good luck. Feel free to ask questions.
