Congratulations on your new additions.
With regards to taming:
Don't handle a snake for several days after feeding (there's a high risk of regurgitation -- not good!)
Once they've settled in for a week or two, try these ideas:
1) before reaching your hand in to get the snake, drop a handkerchief or kleenex tissue over it's head, then slowly reach in and pick it up in the middle of it's body. Once it's been picked up it's less likely to strike at you.
2) Use very slow, deliberate movements and avoid putting your hand too close to the snake's head (don't point its head at your face either! -- Someone posted a snake bite pic here -- tagged right on the mouth. OUCH!)
3) Don't carry the snake around a lot or pass it around from person to person. Take it out and sit quietly in a chair or on the floor and let it rest in your lap. Lightly stroke it's back in the direction the scales lie.
4) Avoid bright lights or loud noises/loud music when handling. Talk to it softly. (Some say snakes can't hear, but I'm not convinced of that. Also talking softly to my snakes helps me to relax and stay calm.)
5) If your snake is nocturnal, take it out in the evening. My female rainbow boa is nasty if I disturb her in the mornings!
If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.
Good luck with your babies. I can't wait to see pics!
