frog
hello everyone, well today we had a Amercian Bullfrog given to us, And I mean to tell you I am not a sissy kinda of person 10 years as a ground pounder in the Navy SeaBees , but this poor frog has spent 6 years in a tank with no light no heat 3 inches of water to sit in 24/7 a tank lid made from plywood when the guy brought it to our house I could not tell what was in the tank! the water was so black, the frog was so cold I thought it was dead did not move or even blink
well my daughter and I spent the last two hours scrubbing the tank out (hold your nose) while the lump of frog sat in a koolaid pitcher with a bit of water and thawed out, we hope to have his/her new home up and running before my spouse comes home and has a drink of koolaid! wonder why people do things like that to a living breathing creature ? well a new critter in the house, will post a pic later he is very pale colored now , anyone have one ? any advice?

frog
well after , checking this guy out we found him to be very sick, he can not hop , guess from never being on land, he seems to have bone loss in his back and rear legs his back in fact sways down a large amount, he can not close his mouth all the way and seems to breath very hard , all in all he is not well . he did eat a earth worm from out of my fingers , my daughter wrote to owner a nasty gram about responsibility to take care of critters, we did stop and look at fire bellys tonight as we spent the money and time to make a house for this guy so would guess we will have 3 -4 of them in the next few days

Poor thing. Sounds like the frog is in good hands now though. Earthworms have good calcium content, and it sounds like he might be in need of more calcium right now.
Best of luck, let us know how the frog does.

When in doubt it is best to go to a herp vet for a check up, without pictures we really can't be of much help. If a vet gets a good hands on lok at him he might be able to help you out.
